2011 New Minimum Wage Rates

December 29th, 2010 by

While the federal minimum wage rate is unchanged ($7.25)  a number of states and municipalities have increased their minimum wages (sometimes called living wages) effective January 1, 2011.  Employees should review all pay rates and compensation programs based on minimum wage to ensure compliance with the new rates including sales compensation plans based on “commission only” or “draws” to ensure compliance.

Arizona -  $7.35                                                             Ohio – $7.40

San Francisco – $9.92 Oregon – $8.50

Colorado – $7.36                                                           Vermont – $8.15

Montana – $7.35                                                             Washington (state) – $8.62

Join the conversation – do you think the federal minimumwage will increase in 2011?

it seems to me if and while we are setting parameters that they should be something that would first be considered to be consistent with our society formation and reasonable to the primary benefit of all. therefor it would seem that a minimum wage might also illustrate a glaring need for a MAXIMUM wage. although our politicians know maximum wages should be and are established for our society servants, it seems to me that our general morals would dictate that our greedy executives simply demand more pay because they can. i tend to thing salaries of 3 or 5 or 56 million per year and 10 million $ bonuses have contributed greatly to the present world wide economic burdens placed on the minimum and/or reasonable wage earners. we consider our freedoms so important that we allow them to damage us when our politicians don’t act in our interests because the lobbying big money dictates. while we allow our political buyout we act unbibically in contrast to the high road many of us think we are on. bibically however ROMANS 13 SAYS THAT ALL AUTHORITY COMES FROM ABOVE AND THAT IF YOU DON’T AGREE WITH THAT ESTABLISHED AUTHORITY YOU OPPOSE GOD WITH CONSEQUENCES TO COME.
