KPA Tip of the Month: September 30, 2015 EEOC Report Deadline

EEOC Report Due

The EEO-1 Joint Reporting Committee has extended the deadline for all EEO-1 Report Filers from September 30, 2015 to October 30, 2015.

The EEOC requires all organizations with 100 or more employees from “affiliated entities” to use the EEO-1 Report to self-identify gender and race. The report must be generated from data collected during any pay period between July and September 2015. The data must include all full-time and part-time employees.

An entity is considered “affiliated” if they have centralized ownership, control, or management. An entity is still considered affiliated if each location or business operation is a separate corporation or business for tax reasons, as long as there is common ownership or control. Affiliated entities are responsible for filing multiple reports:

1.    A report for the principal office.
2.    A report for each individual location with more than 50 employees.
3.    A consolidated report covering all locations and entities, including those with fewer than 50 employees.
4.    A list showing the name, address, total number of employees, and the major activity for each location.
