24-Hour DOT Hazmat Hotline
KPA’s 24-Hour DOT Hazmat hotline is designed to provide shippers with a phone number that can be placed on their shipping papers.
Anyone who handles transportation of a hazardous material that requires a hazardous materials shipping paper, must include an emergency response telephone number for use in the event of an emergency involving the hazardous material.
Emergency Response Telephone Number Requirements:
- The number must be monitored at all times while the hazardous material is in transportation, including storage to transportation
- The number must be written on the shipping paper, immediately following the basic description or in a clearly visible location
- The number must be answered by a person who either:
- is knowledgeable of the hazardous material being shipped and has comprehensive emergency and incident mitigation response information for that material, or
- has immediate access to a person who possesses such knowledge and information
If you’re a current KPA client, and have an up to date online Hazmat chemical inventory, KPA will have MSDS information on all of the Hazmat at your facility and you are authorized to use the 1-888-HAZ-MATS DOT Hazmat hotline on your shipping papers.
