ANSI Z10 Standard for Occupational Health and Safety

These are introductions to the standard and basic definitions and contain no guidance for implementation.
ANSI Z10 Section 3 Management Leadership and Employee Participation
KPA's Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP) helps establish responsibilities for management and employees at all levels of the organization. KPA works with management to develop safety and loss prevention programs and implement them throughout the entire organization. These Health and Safety Management systems are then refined through use of our ongoing software and services to maintain accountability and oversight.
KPA's systems incorporate employee participation through ongoing safety committee meetings, task assignment and identification, implementation of control measures and planning. KPA provides online software to assist with communication and reporting at each level of the organization to assist management and quickly recognize those employees making the largest impact.
ANSI Z10 Section 4 Planning
Planning and review is an integral component of our approach. When installing the KPA system at a facility we assist our clients with an initial review and gap analysis to identify areas of risk and potential for improvement. Once the system is established, our processes and online tools provide continuous feedback loops to help identify areas for improvement.
Additionally, KPA's team and technology help management to assess and prioritize issues by severity and level of risk. Based on these factors, goals, objectives and due dates are set as a means for continuous improvement. KPA's online systems then serve as a means of documenting implementation plans and measuring progress.
ANSI Z10 Section 5 Implementation and Operation
As an
extension of your management team, KPA staff is instrumental in assisting you
to implement our proven Occupational Health and Safety Management System. We will help you to establish a process for
reducing risk by helping identify potential sources of loss and working with
you to choose the most effective feasible method for reducing those risks. When you
change equipment, processes, or move into new business opportunities, we are
available to help you identify any new risks that may arise from these
changes. We are also available to help
you discover potential risks brought in by outside vendors.
KPA staff will work with you to develop and implement emergency response procedures to help prepare for and prevent emergencies stemming from human factors or natural disasters.
Once all of
these systems have been agreed upon and implemented, we will help
to train your staff on the elements of your OHSMS. Through a combination of onsite and online training, you will have the
ability to assure all of your staff knows your policies and procedures.
Finally, our online software provide an effective method of communication up and down your organization. The electronic suggestion system, employee postings, meeting minutes, document management system and other features provide an effective method of quickly disseminating information across your organization.
ANSI Z10 Section 6 Evaluation and Corrective action
KPA will assist you with evaluating your facilities and Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems in order to establish a method continuous improvement.
Our engineers will assist you with conducting ongoing audits to identify hazards and control risks. KPA's online software will then aggregate these data points to allow you to quickly monitor and assess the risk at any of your facilities or departments. During ongoing Safety Committee Meetings we can assist with incident investigations and root cause analyses to help identify corrective and preventative actions.

Having all this organized and prioritized data at your fingertips on a continuous basis allows for a rapid and in-depth management review process. Using our tools, you’ll be able to quickly identify trends and recurring issues across your organization. Once identified, we’ll help you establish corrective actions and quickly disseminate the new policy across your organization.
